The Story of the Westminster East Charity Golf Day So Far
Over the last 9 year, and as a direct consequence of the generosity of the participating golfers and our various supporters, we have been able to raise just over £ 115.000 for the various charities we have supported. The members of the Rotary Club of Westminster East would like to express their most heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped to make this possible.
The monies raised have been distributed as follows:

Donated to the Lisa Thaxter Trust for Children with Bone Cancer.

Split with £1,500 being passed to the Salvation Army and £ 5,500
donated to the Mission for Deep Sea Fishermen.

Following the tragic death earlier this year of David Hansford, one of the
initiators of our charity golf day, the event was henceforth called the
“David Hansford Golfing Classic”.
Proceeds this year were split with £10,000 donated to Imperial College's
Pancreatic Cancer Fund and £1,000 being shared between the Marie Curie
and MacMillan Nurses charities.

shared between Marie Curie and the North London Hospice.

Split with £15,500 passed to The Samaritans and £1,500 being
donated to Rotary International's Polio Eradication Programme.

Split with Funds equally distributed between The Shooting Star's Children's
Hospice and the Churchill Gardens, Pimlico Primary School Playground
Project.

In 2008 we were unable to organise a golf day but are determined that as of this year we will continue the tradition, hoping for your support.
